18G Flat Back Earrings

18G is the in-between gauge. Sturdier than an earring, finer than the cartilage standard, and these flat backs make the most of it. Titanium reversible threadless studs, CZ butterflies, dangles and gold PVD, all with the flush disc that never pokes. It's the gauge for noses, lobes and fine helixes alike.

18 Gauge Flat Back Fit Guide

18G (1.0mm) lives in a lot of nostril piercings, plenty of lobes, and cartilage piercings done on the finer side. Posts here run 1/4" (6mm) snug to 5/16" (8mm) standard. Nearly everything is threadless push-in, including the reversible pieces, which carry a different gem on each end.

The reversible trick deserves its own sentence. The post is the middle, both ends decorate, and flipping which end faces forward is a free second look. It's the best value-per-piercing idea in the drawer.

FAQ

Lots of nostrils, most lobes, since 18G is just slightly thicker than a standard earring, and finer cartilage piercings. If your 20G earrings feel loose or your piercer said "eighteen," this is your page.

Both ends of the stud are decorated, say a CZ on one side and an opal ball on the other, so flipping the post gives you a second earring free. It's the signature trick of this collection's titanium threadless line.

It's one step thicker, 1.0mm against 0.8mm. Many healed piercings accept it with slow, gentle insertion, but never force it. If it won't glide, stay at 20G. A piercing shouldn't become a stretch project by accident.

The top's pin press-fits into the hollow post and holds by tension. Pull straight out to open, press to set. It's the fastest swap system in body jewelry, and no threads ever touch your piercing.

1/4" (6mm) for snug lobes and nostrils. 5/16" (8mm) for the helix, conch or thicker lobes. Flush with a whisper of room is the goal. Lengths are on every product page.

Titanium if your skin is sensitive, since it's nickel-free, and most of this collection's stars are titanium. Surgical steel for everyday value. Gold PVD finishes ride on both, and the page lists each piece's base metal.
