As most of you know, I'm not a professional piercer... Just a piercing aficionado! And while I'm here to steer you in the right direction, you should always fall back on a professional piercer's advice when it comes to your piercing's health. I might sound like a broken record sometimes, but it's for a good reason! Here are a few reasons why I'm always saying...
"ASK YOUR PROFESSIONAL PIERCER!"
Today's topics:
- Professional piercers have seen it all! They're licensed and qualified to give medical advice regarding your piercings.
- Communication is key: especially with piercing newbies. It's hard to communicate exactly what's happening with your piercing. Seeing your piercing in-person eliminates that confusion.
- Line of sight - it's not always easy to see that piercing bump on the back of your cartilage earring! Let the pro diagnose what's up, they can see your industrial bar from an angle that you cannot.
- Advice - when I give out advice, it's general aftercare tips regarding a naturally healing piercing. If you have a piercing complication, the way you take care of it might change. Let a piercing studio tell you the next steps to take.
- Build a relationship with your professional piercer... It's good to feel comfortable with someone who will give you proper piercing care (and hopefully more mods in the future)

Do you have a nose ring that needs to be hidden? Some places of employment allow you to freely express yourself with tattoos and piercings...
