Steel Nipple Ring Buying Guide
Decoder first, because the internet confuses everyone: surgical steel and stainless steel are the same family — 316L is the surgical grade of stainless, the one certified clean enough for body jewelry. When our product page says 316L, that's the grade in the box.
Sizing is standard nipple territory: 14G, with 9/16 inch (14mm) fitting most people and 5/8 inch (16mm) for a roomier fit. A bar should sit with a little space at each end — too tight is the classic mistake. "Set" in a title means a pair.
The honest skin note: 316L suits the vast majority of piercings for daily wear. It does hold a trace of nickel locked in the alloy, so if your piercings react even to good steel, that's your sign you're truly nickel-sensitive — and your page is titanium. New piercing? Keep the starter your piercer placed until you're cleared (nipples take 6 to 9 months or more), then come shopping.
The matte pinks, blacks and teals are IP/PVD finishes on 316L — color bonded to the steel, not plating that flakes.
