Hello Body Candy Babies, it's Allie. It's Friday, finally. It's been a super long crazy week. I'm going to give everybody a second to filter in. I think I started a minute or two early anyway, so hopefully everybody comes. I should probably bring up my comments.
Hello, hello McKenzie. Hi Corey. All right, looks like we've got people popping in. Hi Christy. Hello everyone. Hey Em, what's up? Hello, hello. Thank you, I'm glad you guys like it. We've been working really hard on making it cuter. Hello everyone coming in. I love seeing all my little wave emojis.
All right, so we're picking up. Today we're going to kind of ... I've got some jewelry with me, I've got some Halloween stuff with me. Not a ton, but some. I've got a couple sneak peeks and just some stuff I found that I liked. I've got the club stuff if anyone wants to see that. I'm going to kind of go over different jewelry that you can wear in different piercings, so I hope that that's interesting for you guys.
What is my favorite jewelry that I own? I really really love my rose gold, those glitter plugs that I have that I wear every once in a while. Really, any of my stone plugs I also really love. They're probably my favorite thing to wear. They're super easy on my ears, and I know that some of you probably already know this, but we carry a lot of the stone plugs in different types of stone, and they come in the round faceted cut. We have some heart ones, we've got some pyramid, almost kind of stud-looking ones. Also, part of your sneak peek today for live is we got in this new shape. They're so cute! I love them. We got them in in opalite, amethyst, and the rose quartz. I hope you guys really like them. They're not listed on the site yet, but I'll get them up ... or let you guys know when they're up.
Yeah, Liz just pointed out the rose gold plugs I'm wearing on the Body Candy cards that you guys get. Those are my favorite plugs. That's why I wore them. I did just see Corey ask me what my first piercing was. Actually my belly button was my ... Well no, that's a lie. I have had my ears pierced since I was six weeks old, so I guess my ears were technically my first piercing. My mom did that. Thanks, mom.
Hello everyone coming in. All the nice, happy people. I love it. Emily, these are ... I think I saw between double-zero up to an inch in these new stone plugs, just so everybody knows. We did get a good variety in of those, and I will post on SnapChat and Instagram when they are live on the site. They just came in to the warehouse, so I just found them.
Hello, everyone. I love seeing that people are ordering the clubs. Let me see ... People loving on Body Candy, I'm all about that. Hello! I also want to remind everyone, number one that I don't see all the comments. If I skip you, I'm super sorry. It might not be on purpose ... It most likely is definitely no one purpose. Also if you have an important question, if I don't get right back to you, give me a couple minutes to get back, but if you think maybe I missed you, don't be afraid to re-comment. Let's take it easy.
I also want to point out, I know I said this last week but I'm going to probably say it a few more times over the month, I love having you guys on my personal social media ... blah, blah, blah. Personal social media. I love interacting with you guys, but the other day I did have a situation where somebody that I know randomly that I grew up, and a customer like were talking on a status and maybe it wasn't so pleasant. I can't have stuff like that happening. Really, I appreciate it so much if you guys want to follow me on Instagram, you're more than welcome. I don't want anybody to take it personally if you're not on my Facebook anymore. I did have to go through and do that.
I am always reachable on Body Candy social media. I'm on SnapChat. Our handle on there is "BodyCandy.com". You'll know that you found us by the icon that looks like me with little hearts, wearing a little pink dress. We are on Instagram and Twitter at Body Candy. We're also on YouTube. YouTube.com/BodyCandyBodyJewelry. I did figure out how to go live on YouTube at the beginning of last week, so I will be doing some extra live videos and stuff on there. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for that.
Let me scroll up and see, because I saw a few things come in. Kaylee's going to be ordering on Tuesday. I love seeing that. The hangers from last week will be up, I would think, relatively soon. I will also be posting anything like that as they come. I don't know if any of you guys saw on our stories today but all of the fang nipple rings have been restocked in all the finishes. The black, the titanium finish, and the rose gold finish are all back.
We also, I noticed, had a new design of fangs. These ones are a little bit more of a monster. Let me just use my clipboard. These ones are more of like monster claws, but they were also very cute. Those are back. I also noticed ... What else was back in stock when I was back there? I posted a couple of things, so make sure you check that out. They're definitely on our stories right now.
We do have some spider jewelry, Kenny. In fact, I actually grabbed this spider because it's one of my personal Halloween favorites for belly stuff. This is a rose gold spider with all of the black gems. I just think it's a really cute piece and I've been enjoying it. This is one of my favorites if you're trying to keep it a little more on the classy side, but still have a Halloween piece. We also just restocked actually the aurora gem spiders, because you guys really loved these. Actually I also really love this, this is another favorite of mine. I did not think I would love so much spider jewelry all in one year.
Anybody's that's asking where you can go to shop, you can go to www.bodycandy.com. There is a keyword search. I cannot stress enough, I get a lot of questions on SnapChat and Instagram and all that kind of stuff about how to find things. The messages you guys send me, if you're looking for a very specific eyebrow ring, you can search for whatever you're looking for, like "cat eyebrow", "cat plug", however you want to. You can combine ... Just simplify words and throw them in the key search. It's going to show you anything that we have.
I can't answer anything on keloids. I can't give out medical advice. I need to keep remembering to say that at the beginning of videos. I love answering questions for you guys about jewelry or about myself or about Body Candy or anything like that. I am not able to give out any medical advice. I'm so sorry. Definitely you can talk to your doctor or a piercer and they would be able to guide you in the right direction for sure.
Let me see. Okay, Shelby asked a great question. The belly ring club has a handmade piece in the club bag. Will the septum back have a handmade piece? As of right now, the septum club will not have any handmade pieces. We'll go over the club right now and I'll kind of tell you what you guys can expect. We still have the same belly ring club as we had before. This month there happens to actually be two HC pieces for the belly ring club. All of the clubs are $14.95 a month. This month there was this cute little witch. Let me see where my clipboard is. There's this cute little witch with the really beautiful Swarovski crystal. There's pictures of all this stuff online too, if you go to Instagram right now there is an Instagram TV episode up of my sweet little face talking about all this. There is a close up video of all this jewelry. This is the other handcrafted piece. It's this cute little pumpkin, also a favorite of mine for the season. Then the third piece is this rose gold top mount cutie that has just the clear gems.
Normally the handcrafted piece is only one, but there are two this month. The other piece, or the other two pieces normally, will be exclusive pieces that you can't buy outside of the club. All of the clubs will be like that. None of the pieces in the clubs are going to be available on our site, but you will notice things are going to match, which is really fun. If you want to be in more than one club, you can sign up for one, you can sign up for all four if you have all four piercing. There is also an option, once you make a login, that you can go in the back and pay for one subscription. If you have multiple piercings but you don't want belly ring every month, you can swap between the clubs. That's really cool. If anybody's going to be super interested in that, maybe I'll do a quick tutorial just to show you guys how to go into that, but if you have a login there is a button that says like, "manage subscriptions". You can add products, you can swap products, or you can skip a month if you would like to. Keep that in mind.
The septum ring this month, the septum club ... Again, these aren't always going to be clickers but they happen to all three be clickers this month. We will have a mix-up of those. Someone was asking this morning if we were going to have horseshoes ever. We will definitely work that out, but for now there will not be an HC piece in the septum. In the industrial club this month, we did have ... We've got this cute little Halloween kitty with the pumpkins. Forehead time, guys. We're just going to do this because it's so much easier. Little kitty with pumpkins. We had this sweet lotus flower in the silver, like the titanium finish. Then we had a cute little VW Bug. I just thought this was so sweet. Also, I punch my husband every day of my life because we play Punch Bug and PT Cruiser, and it's really fun.
Those are the three for this month. Actually you'll notice that the nipple bar club ... The nipple bars match the industrials. Not all of them, but at least this one does. The lotus, and then we have either the rose gold or the gold finish in these heart shields, [inaudible 00:10:44] ones. Then we do have Halloween nipple shields with ... or bars, rather. Oh no, my forehead's not even going to focus now. They're little pumpkins with a witch hat. We're working on this guys. We figured out a way better video setup to get YouTube videos going for you, but live I still kind of have to deal with whether my phone wants to adjust or not.
Let me look and see if we missed any questions. Our SnapChat handle is BodyCandy.com. Somebody is talking about the mystery bag. I've also had a bunch of people messaging me and asking me if they can buy previous months of the monthly club. You cannot just straight up purchase them, but we do have mystery grab bags of the belly ring club that you can buy and hope that you get one of the previous month pieces. They're kind of just put in all of them, all mixed around, so you never know. Thank you for my tattoo comment, being adorable.
Let me see. Anybody that's asking about restocks, restocks are something that I don't personally know about on the regular. I do my best to keep you guys updated, but also you can always go in at like ... Tuesday or Wednesday usually is a good time to check. Each week you'll see anything ... You can either search for a product and if it's back in stock it's going to be back on the site, or you can search specifically by item. You can also contact customer service if you have any questions on that.
I see people asking if you can buy any of the pieces I just showed separately, you can't. They're part of the club. It's only $14.95 a month. You get a $45 value worth of jewelry. There is a $5 shipping fee if you live outside of the US, but I do want to remember to tell you guys, if you're in multiple clubs and you live in, say, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, wherever, if you're in all four clubs we're going to send them in one package. You're only going to get charged one delivery fee, so keep that in mind.
Hello everyone coming in. I also love matching, Willow. Something that I really enjoy. I also see people commenting that they love clickers. I love clickers, they're so much easier, but I also try to remind myself that not everybody loves the same things I love. It's super tough. I also love these segment rings so much, so I'm always partial to those when people ask.
So many things coming in, my phone was kind of glitchy there. I see somebody asking if we design the jewelry. We have custom departments, we have handcrafted departments, we have a gold department. We don't hand design all of this jewelry, but if there's something you're interested in, you should definitely go through our customer department because you can do a lot of really cool stuff in there. I even noticed today, I was looking up breast cancer stuff because it's breast cancer awareness month. We had a really cute little belly ring with the ribbon, and I saw that you could get a custom name on it, so I thought that was really sweet.
Monica asked if the Daith piercings help with migraines or if it's a hoax. Let me tell you guys a story. The other day I was scrolling through my Facebook feed and I almost fell out of my chair. I saw a company in our area promoting that they were doing $20 migraine piercings and I could have died. They're not guaranteed to help my migraines. They can help. They have helped people, some more than others, but they are not guaranteed. They're very cute, either way. I just think they're beautiful and if you think they're cute, just get one. Definitely don't get one if you think that it's going to solve your migraine problem, because it definitely might not.
How do you put in septum jewelry that isn't clickers? With the seamless rings you use pliers. I don't have any to show you guys right now, but you just can really gently pull them apart and then you slide it through, then you slide the opening down and use the pliers to bend them back together. Some of them are soft enough that you can do it with your fingers, but some of them aren't. Keep that in mind.
Hello everyone coming in. Let me see, I grabbed a couple other pieces of jewelry today. I thought this was a really cute Halloween design. It's a little shoe with a wing. It's got a spiderweb on it, little stiletto. A little saucy stiletto. Very festive. I've been really liking all the Halloween jewelry I'm seeing come in. Another sneak peek for you guys, I noticed we got in this little cute bat guy. This is the belly ring. I also saw him in stud form, like cartilage stud, and an industrial bar. This is another one that's not listed on the site but I will post in the stories when it's up for you guys.
Again, our handles for SnapChat is BodyCandy.com, for Instagram and Twitter it's at BodyCandy. YouTube.com/BodyCandyBodyJewelry. I'm usually who you're talking to on SnapChat, like 100% of the time. It's usually me on Instagram. If you guys ever need any help with anything, feel free to reach out. I know last week I had a bunch of people ask me [inaudible 00:16:18], and I was trying to get back to you guys and a ton of things were going on this week. I am still getting back to you guys, so just please hold tight if any of you feel like I didn't get back to you. I'm super sorry about that.
Yeah Monica, I love my tragus. It's like a fun one. I like that it's a little more hidden, but I do think that the daith's are really cute. You guys can always go to either YouTube.com and see our piercing experiences, or if you're on SnapChat. We got back to Get Pierced Thursday this week, with the piercing experience slides, so that was really exciting. If you guys are ever interesting in knowing what different people experienced when they got different piercings, jewelry that they love, things that they hate about their piercing, anything. That's definitely something that you should keep your eye on. Every Thursday I will be sharing those slides with you. They will tell you the name of the piercing, the pain scale from one to ten, pros, cons, favorite jewelry to wear. Lots of information there, make sure you're there.
Hi April. Hi Karen, welcome. Ashley said that, "I got snake bites almost a year ago and I'm still having problems with one side." Anything with healing is really tough. If you are scared, you should definitely go to a reputable piercer and have them check it out. They can help you either direction, or a doctor's going to be able to help you decide what to do with that.
Let me see. New jewelry ... Doesn't really come out on a certain day. Kitty asked if we have new jewelry come out on a certain day or if it's monthly. We put new stuff up every week and we're constantly getting in new products. That's why I was saying, I always check personally ... I work here, I personally go check Tuesday or Wednesday to see what's going on. That's probably a good day of the week to check the website. That gives us a chance to load everything up there.
Karen, we're just asking ... People are asking me different questions about jewelry, about their piercings. I'm showing some jewelry. We have monthly subscription boxes for jewelry. We're just kind of hanging out. Let's see. Kelly said that she let her belly button close up, but can still fit in a 16 gauge hoop, but getting in a 14 gauge is a challenge. To be hones, Kelly, you can actually go to your piercer and have them re-pierce you with a 14 gauge. It's a little uncomfortable, but then you can slide right back up into the 14 gauge. You're still going to have a healing process. It's probably going to be a lot quicker and easier than your first process was.
When I started sizing up my ears actually, like stretching, I actually went from a regular earring post which is like a 20 gauge, up to a 12 gauge to start. They just still ... I mean, they used my initial hole and they put the needle through. There was barely any discomfort. I would think you could totally do that. Belly rings are really hard to find in 16 gauge. We're trying to get in stuff that you can wear for sure, but it's definitely tougher. I know I've had people reaching out about 12 gauge nipple bars too. That's another thing that's also a little harder to find. 14 gauge is pretty standard on nipple and belly jewelry.
I know some people are pierced with different gauge sizes because of their body size, type, things like that, but you can always inquire before you're getting pierced what size they're piercing you with and if it's anything that seems like ... You should definitely look up what piercing you're getting done for. A 16 gauge is normal for a cartilage. You can pierced anywhere from a 16 to like a 22 gauge with your nose, so there's a ton of options there. You can always ask them what they're doing, and if you think that you're getting a size that isn't what you want, ask for what you want. Never be afraid ... Same thing with tattoos, you guys. Until they are touching your body with a needle, you can say no. Never be afraid to do that, especially if you're uncomfortable or uncertain about something.
Joy, we're working on making more mystery grab bags for different piercings, because we see that people are starting to ask for them. Especially now that we're going to have these clubs going, I'm expecting that we might have more things like that. I have already mentioned that to the people that I need to tell. Keep your eyes peeled and I will let you guys know if the mystery grab bags become even more ... have more options in the future.
Jessica. Jessica said, "I never got a cartilage piercing because I was dumb and decided to get my daith first. Now I'm scared to get other ones." I've definitely heard that your daith is a little bit more of an uncomfortable one to get. I had a double helix once and it really wasn't that terrible. Don't be afraid. Also remember, it's over super quick. I know when I did my septum, my septum barely hurt at all. Don't be afraid. It's over, you get to keep it forever and it's beautiful. You'll enjoy it, it's worth it.
Megan, I am wearing ... Oh, I thought maybe I had it in here with me. The L'Oreal Infallible ... I can't think of the name of the color right now. I really love this vampy kind of muted deep, but also kind of pale. I don't know. That's what I go for, but I also buy the Lime Crime Velveteens in Cashmere, which is a very similar color. I love my lipstick. It's also matte because I wear Invisalign. If I try to wear regular lipstick, I end up with it all over the freaking place. Matte stuff goes on ... This stuff is like, this is the kind of stuff that you put on the night before and you wake up the next morning ... You put it on in the morning, you wear it all day, you go out on a Friday night. You wake up in the morning thinking you're going to look like a hot mess and the rest of your face does, but your lips still look perfect. I'm not even kidding. I have to scrub this stuff off. I use an exfoliating scrub to get it off, it's really good.
Thanks. I love when people tell me that I do good on my wings. I've worked really hard to learn how to do them, and I definitely want to do a tutorial with you guys, but I realized when I went to do the first one ... I was going to do it spur of the moment, I'm really afraid of ... I saw Jeffree Starr making fun of a girl's tutorial recently, and I'm so afraid of that being me. I want to make sure that when I go to do one, I'm a little bit more put together. Have my table laid out so I look a little serious, and make sure that I don't make a fool of myself. Sometimes this is a guessing game, but I'm trying to get it more regulated. Thank you for all of the compliments.
Oh, Monica, no problem. Monica actually ... Oh my goodness, is it okay if I share your story, Monica? I should probably ask because it's definitely about your daughter. If so, let me know, because I would definitely share that story with everyone.
I see people talking to each other, which is so awesome. Hello Ellen, don't worry about being late. Hello, hello. Industrial piercings ... I see you asking, Alyssa. I don't have one but cartilage piercings in general can take a really wide variety of time, like 8 to 12 months to heal depending on your body. They are not bad and they are so beautiful. You get to keep them forever, you'll hear me say that all the time.
Karen, my nose took ... I had a problem with one, like my forward one. When I first got it pierced, I got it pierced with something really really tiny. After my swelling went down I think it was actually pulling through my nose and causing my to have some irritation and almost not letting me heal at all because I kept reopening it. I had to go in and get a longer bar and get a little bit bigger of a stud so that my nose had the time to actually heal up and then I was able to downsize. I think my nose ... One of them took like four months, and one of them took like seven. There was a huge difference there.
Thank you, Regan. You're so sweet. Megan, I don't know if we're hiring right now, but we are, if anybody's still interested in the [inaudible 00:24:59] influencer stuff. We're still working on it. We are going to get that out to you guys soon, we're just trying to finalize some stuff on our end so that we can get that going.
Anybody that's ever asking about waiting time to change your jewelry, the answer is always yes. I know it sucks. I've talked to a bunch of people lately that were talking about their septums. It had only been a week and they were like, "It doesn't hurt anymore, I'm just going to change it." Don't! The reason that you wait that long is to make sure that when you change, you are fully healed. You are going to have more sensitivities when you have a raw, open wound. You want to keep in that jewelry that you were given by your piercer that's not going to cause any issues for you. You want to let your body heal before you start taking stuff out.
Willow, that was a really interesting comment about the piercings back in the 80s. Thank you for sharing that. April, tell your son I said hello. Monica said I could share her story. Last week I got this ... I wouldn't say too panicked, but a message from Monica, who is a mother. She was messaging me because her daughter, her ears were hurting her, so she took her jewelry out. She was wearing jewelry from somewhere else, I'm not going to name any names or anything like that, but pretty much they were so cheap and horrible that they were eating holes in her daughter's ears.
Again, I'm not able to give out medical advice, but I did advise her on at least some first steps to take. She just had reported back that her ears were doing so much better. I was really glad to hear that. I do want to let you guys know, as I said, I always am there to hear you and talk to you and be a friend, but just keep in mind again that I can't give out the medical advice. That was a crazy thing to see happen. I've ever seen ... The earrings were literally like eating holes in her ears. It was so scary.
Let me see. Everybody's being so nice to each other, I love it. Kitty asked if sizes vary when it comes to gauges. Yeah, plugs vary. A plug can start down at like a size 14, like the size of an industrial bar. I'm at like, 5/8ths. They can go up inches and inches. Some people have their ears stretched huge.
Megan asked, "I really want to get a double nose piercing on the same side, but should I do both at the same time or do one or the other?" Do it at one time. Just do it at one time. It's A, going to be probably cheaper, and B, it's not going to affect anything healing-wise getting them done next to each other. Then you only have to go through one heal period. You're going to be super annoyed if you can change one nose ring and not the other. You're going to have to go through a whole second period of being uncomfortable and in pain, and that's no fun. I totally suggest doing them at the same time, unless you find that you're uncomfortable after the first one. Absolutely speak up and wait on the second one. Listen to your body, always.
Ellen, that's totally true. After you're done with your swelling period you definitely want to downsize so that you can not get things ... Having them be too long allows for way too much movement and you're going to get them caught on stuff, that's totally not good.
Karen, for anyone asking about my personal social media, my Facebook I'm definitely going to be straying away from having you guys on there. I love that people are interested and totally, if you guys want to be on my Instagram or my SnapChat, have at it. My Instagram handle is CoolerMood, C-O-O-L-E-R-M-O-O-D. I'm in a band called "Cooler". You can see my life and my pets and stuff. Mostly with Facebook I'm trying to keep all that stuff separate, just because I can't control what my friends are saying to you, and because I'm in a band I don't know everybody on my Facebook and I just want to be really ... I don't ever want there to be an uncomfortable situation with anybody. It's for you guys. I know it sucks.
L-O-L, Ashley. Haha! Let's see. Yes, Samantha, great point. If your piercer recommends that you come and get your first change of earrings done by them, absolutely take them up on it. They will make sure that your first change into a new set of jewelry goes smoothly. It's super frightening the first time you take out your septum jewelry because it's a lot higher up than you think. Sometimes you're like, "Oh my God, it closed up in that five seconds," but it totally didn't. It's totally scary and you should.
Kitty, yeah, we absolutely sell. We sell tons and tons of plugs. If you go to our website, BodyCandy.com, you can search by size on there for anything you're looking at. Destiny said that I've been so helpful with her piercing journey. "My piercings are a huge part of who I am as an individual and your support means everything to me. I love your body positivity reminders." That makes me so happy, thank you for sharing. I always like to try to read some positive stuff as we go here too.
Emily, your piercer should let you know how long you need to wait to change your nipple jewelry. I do not have my nipples pierced and I don't know an exact time frame off the top of my head on that. Yeah, April, it's always so scary, the septum change the first time is so frightening. Actually, the other thing I just looked down and noticed that I grabbed, I have a couple of ... I know the main topic I wanted to talk about today. Oh, no! It's jewelry you can wear in different piercings. We'll start off with that and I'll kind of explain as we go, too.
One of the things I grabbed today was a cartilage stud. This is a cute little pink triangle. It is a double triangle. I thought this was really sweet in general, and I thought everybody would maybe like that.
My SnapChat name is ... I'm not even sure. If you go to my Instagram, I have my code on there, Karen.
I also grabbed ... This is an eyebrow ring, and it has the little turquoise stone in one end, and then it's just the silver ball on the other. You can obviously wear this in an eyebrow, but you can actually ... eyebrow jewelry is what you wear in your rook. It's just a curved barbell. I know I've had a lot of people asking about that.
Thank you, Monica.
Keep that in mind. The other thing is you can totally still wear little BCRs and stuff in your rook. That's super cute. For your conch, you can totally wear cartilage studs. You can wear longer labret studs if you want, because they have the flat back. As long as they're the right gage. You can wear a straight barbell. If you find a shorter straight barbell, with the two bars at either end, you can still wear anything like that in your conch. You can also wear ... I grabbed a smaller one of these because I wanted to show it for your helix. The belly button twister rings that we carry, those are really cute in a conch. If you go on our Instagram right now, I posted somebody's ear yesterday. She has the mermaid one in right there. It's adorable, it wraps around the whole side of her ear. Very cute.
I did grab this little tiny one. I think these are very cute if you only have a single helix. Or, if you have the double, you can wear this and it will look like you have four. I feel like they would line up really cute. Let us not forget those lace up earrings from earlier in the year, because I love those.
Alyssa, the conch piercing is the stud that's right ... I'll use my pen. Right through this middle part of your ear. Kelly, I'm glad you got your belly ring in. I'm glad you're excited. Make sure you send me pictures. Samantha is asking if you have your ears pierced already and you want to start sizing for plugs, how do you get started?
Really quickly, you definitely want your ear holes, like you ear piercings and your lobe to be completely, totally, 150% healed before you start stretching. Once you start going, we do have kits on our website. I think that if you go to the landing page that we share that has all the jewelry that I usually show on here there on there, or you can search stretching keys in the keyword search on BodyCandy.com. We have the taper sets that go all the way from size 14 gauge, which is like belly button ring size, all the way up to a double zero. Then we have double zero up to an inch, so there's two separate kits you can buy. It's like, thirty or forty bucks total for you to size up to an inch with those tapers. I do see Liz is already starting to share a link for you, thank you Liz. I always appreciate when everybody shares links and helps out, it's so nice.
Terri has been a customer for three or four years. "Love seeing all the new stuff." Thank you so much. Megan asked pros and cons about a septum as opposed to a nostril. "I have a nostril, debating on a septum." Pros and cons. Pros are, I love them all, so I got them all. I love nose rings so I got one. I wanted a double but I didn't want to lose my ring, so I got them. I got the septum. I like having all of them, and I always encourage people to consider getting all of them. Don't feel like you have to pick one or the other. Pros of the septum is, depending on the jewelry you wear, you can tuck them up and hide them. If you have a grandma that maybe isn't so fond or if you have a job where you don't want to put a bandaid over your nose or have to wear a retainer or take things out, those are really awesome to consider.
I do really love my nose, and I like that it's so cute and always there, but not so like, "Holy moley." With my septum ring I can get a little bit more statement. Not that I couldn't with my nose rings, I just choose not to use my studs too much because I'm really bad at changing my bad jewelry, like terribly.
Oh, what is the name of the curved small one that I showed to use on a helix? If you look up 16 gauge spiral ring or twister ring in the keyword search, this should come up. It's got the iridescent ... It'll be listed as the 16 gauge spiral with iridescent balls on it, I believe.
See, everybody being so helpful. It's so awesome. I have a couple more. With your medusa you can wear the labret studs or any of the cartilage pieces that have the flat backs, anything like that. Helix, anything you can find in a 16 gauge that will go around your ear, you can wear it. You can wear stuff that's really big and have it drape. You can wear those cute little cuffs that we have, the spiral ones. Helix piercings are really, really fun.
Ellen, that's an awesome question. "Is it uncomfortable to wear earbuds with a tragus piercing?" Yes and no. Before I understood body jewelry, I would have said yes to that. Because I'm in a band I'm always wearing earplugs and stuff, and I always was so annoyed that I did this, because I would try to but in earplugs ... My earplug, I'd have to like push this earring out and shove the plug in behind it. Then I would have a little alien antennae sticking out of my ear, like I'm about to split into a little creature from Men in Black. It used to drive me freaking nuts.
Now I realize that if you wear a shorter bar with the flat back, this fits so snug to my ear that earbuds, earplugs, nothing like that bothers me now. If you make sure that you mess around with the size of the post that you're wearing and the flat back, or the very small ball backs that are a lot more comfortable, anything like that is awesome.
We do have ... Yeah, Terry. The clear piercings are also called retainers. We do offer retainers on our website. They are usually made out of BioPlast and they are like, a clear or sometimes a nude color, like a skin-toned color almost. Those are totally options, we carry that and pretty much everything. We even have silicone plugs that are those colors.
Kimberly, if you go to our website and search VCH in the search bar it will bring up anything that you can wear. Actually, that's true of any piercing. I know I've told you guys before with your earlobes, if you want to stretch up to a size 14 which is literally the size of a belly ring, you can technically wear belly rings as dangly earrings, you just buy two of them. If I still had normal earring holes, I would still be doing that. Now I have stretched up and cannot.
We don't have any plans on a physical store, but we are trying to maybe ... trying to experiment with branching out in general to interact with you guys more. That is definitely something, but I don't see a physical store coming for us in the future.
What kinds of rings would I recommend for the tragus that have a smaller post? We have the itty bitty quarter inch BCRs, and we have those in the rose gold with the oval balls on them. I think those are very very cute for a tragus, with the rings.
Yeah, Amy just agreed with me about the flat backs, especially if you wear headsets. Anything with the flat backs in your ears is really comfortable in my opinion.
Are we going to get an app? Probably not. We've been having a lot of people ask that question. We've been working on making our site extremely mobile friendly, so we don't really need an app. That is saving us a lot of time and money, really, probably. You guys really won't need it because we have so many filtering options on the website. If you guys are ever sitting down at your computer with your phone at the same time, you should totally pull up our site on both of them and try to navigate between the two. It's actually very similar. The website, when you pull it up, there's a keyword search right at the top. There are tabs at the top that will take you to different body parts. Then once you're searching, on the left-hand side there's a gray box that goes down the whole side. You can filer by metal type, gem type, animal, length of the bar, all sorts of different things.
On your phone you can do exactly the same thing. The site is just a little bit more compact on your phone. All of those tabs that you see across the computer screen, just on your phone there is a button with three little lines on them. If you click that, it gives you all the same options. It literally pretty much looks like you're using an app, you just happen to be in your browser. I hope that that helps.
I'm probably going to get going, but I will definitely be doing more live videos on the weekends. You guys seem to really like that, so I do want to point that out. If any of you guys are interested in that, make sure you comment like, times below with your time zone. I always like to try to see who's interested in what times, just so I can try and schedule ... Trying to mix it up for you. Like I said, I'm trying to do more YouTube stuff in the future. There is a YouTube live option that is a little bit different than this one and a little bit easier to flow with, so we're going to mess with that. YouTube.com/BodyCandyBodyJewelry, Instagram and Twitter are at BodyCandy. SnapChat is BodyCandy.com. You are already here, our website of course is www.bodycandy.com.
Emily, you didn't miss your shout out. Actually, I was waiting to see if you were here. Before I go, guys, congratulations to Emily because she listens when I tell you guys stuff on live things and Emily was so excited and listened how to search on our website that she found the septum monthly club like a week and a half early. She actually subscribed back like, September 22nd, like way early. We had to email her and let her know that she actually couldn't get them until October. Shout out to Emily for being an awesome customer and being so excited about the septum club. I'm so glad that you're here to say hello.
I love you guys, it was so nice to chat with you. I hope you have an awesome weekend. I'm going to be in Ellicottville tomorrow which is a beautiful little town like an hour, an hour and a half away from my house. I'm going to be at Fall Fest. I will be active on our stories tomorrow, so I hope you guys enjoy that. Have an awesome weekend you guys, I'll see you next week
