"I've developed a morning ritual with my spacers and funk off now that's absolutely flawless. Before I shower, I take out my spacers and leave them on the sink, then shower and gently rub my lobes to get off any dirt. After I'm done showering, I dry my lobes (inside the hole too since I'm at a 0g) get some funk off on my thumb and forefinger, and rub it inside and outside the hole. I use a 0g taper to make sure my regular spacers fit back in my lobes, and then put the jewellery back in. There's never any ear cheese now, only the mild herbal scent of the funk off. Use it sparingly, but make sure your ears are well lubricated."
