Vitamin C:

Wrinkles. Sun Spots. Crow's Feet. These are terms that might not scare someone in their teens or early twenties. After all, for the young, aging skin is a problem to worry about in the distant future... Or is it?

Think about your skin in these terms instead: brilliance protection, glowing skin, tightness and firmness, redness reduction, evenness... Or better yet, just having better looking skin .

Starting a skin care regimen early can help keep you looking youthful and vibrant for a long, long time. Your future self will thank you. Luckily enough, there's a naturally occurring substance that can give you exactly what you're looking for - Vitamin C.

The Scientific Stuff:

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant, meaning it fights free-radicals, nasty little molecules that wreak havoc in your body through a process called oxidative stress. Over time, the damage this stress causes becomes visual - it's what we perceive as aging - wrinkles, dark spots, redness that doesn't disappear, unevenness, thinness, even cancerous cells.

Enter Vitamin C - even if you're a citrus fanatic or take a Vitamin C immunity supplement, a surprisingly small amount of Vitamin C actually makes it into your skin. That makes it all the more important to apply Vitamin C directly to your skin via some sort of topical application.

Vitamin C should be a key part of any beauty regimen. Here's why:

1.) Its skin-brightening properties stop pigment production in its tracks.

2.) It's a natural anti-inflammatory and fights redness of all kinds

3.) It protects your skin from harmful UV rays

As pierced and modified fanatics, we're passionate about skin health. Healthy skin is very important for overall piercing success... And let's be real, if we're getting a piercing, it's going to draw attention. Introducing Vitamin C into your routine will give your piercing some beautiful background scenery.

Body Candy is now the exclusive distributor for Christopher David Vitamin C Serum. We chose Christopher David because it has an incredible ingredient list (that you can actually pronounce) and is fortified with incredible fruit extracts and vitamins B and B5. See for yourself:

IngredientsWater, Glycerin, Carrageenan, Aloe Vera Extract, Silk Amino Acid, Lime Extract, Vitamin Encapsolated, Sea Buckthorn Extract, Lentil Extract, Apple Extract, Whey Protein, Watermelon Fruit Extract, Moringa Oleifera Seed Extract, Ceramide, Cranberry Fruit Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Vitamin Pro B5, Vitamin B3, Rosemary Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sorbid Acid, Hexlene Glycol

How to use Vitamin C Serum:

Serum

Even if you've never been one for skin care, Vitamin C Serum is not an intimidating product to introduce into your routine. At first, you can introduce it to your skin every other day, gradually move to once a day, and if your skin needs it, apply it in both the morning and the evening.

Here's how to use it:

1.) Wash your face and gently dry it

2.) If you use toner, apply that before Christopher David Vitamin C serum

3.) Warm a few drops of Christopher David Vitamin C Serum in your hand

or

3.) Put a drop of serum in each of your "zones" (forehead, both cheeks, tip of nose, chin, or whichever area you think needs the treatment)

4.) Gently massage the serum into your skin - if you feel greasy, you probably used too much! Adjust and use a bit less next time.

5.) If you use moisturizer, apply that last - remember, serums before creams!

Do a Spot Test First:

We chose Christopher David Vitamin C serum because of it's sheer, natural power to hydrate and condition your skin. This does, however, mean it is concentrated for maximum strength. Before you fully commit to a Vitamin C regimen, we recommend performing a patch test on a small section of your skin on your neck or arm.

    Hi Jennifer,

Glad you’re so excited! Always happy to hear from any pierced and modded friends :).

I’m not sure the specifics of the Avon Vitamin C product, but I know Christopher David’s Vitamin C serum is packed with 20% Vitamin C – the maximum allowed in any serum. It’s also full of natural oils and fruit extracts, so you can be sure you’re putting something safe (and pronounceable) on your skin.

I’ve been using it regularly and I love the way it makes my skin look and feel. Can’t recommend it enough!

Im so glad to see BC selling beauty regimen products like the new Vitamin C serum. I am an Avon rep (with piercings and tattoos by the way) and I love our Vitamin C serum as well. I’ve been using Vitamin C serum for the past 6 months and i see a big reduction of my sun spots. How does yours compare? And why should I switch to yours, which I will do if yours is better. Thankyou so much and happy piercing!!!
