The Tea: Universal Jewelry
Hey Body Candy Fam!
MAYDAY! Just kidding. It's just another fantastic day in May... With me, Alley. Welcome to The Tea - my every-Thursday vlog where we talk body jewelry; being modified; and all the fun stuff that comes along with it. Thanks for hanging out today!
This week's topic is... JEWELRY. Surprise, surprise, right?! I wanted to talk a little bit about finding the right jewelry for your piercing, no matter what it is. I think there's a huge misconception that each piercing has it's very own specific jewelry... Actually, in most cases, jewelry is pretty universal.
You might just be thinking about your jewelry in a preconceived way - i.e. that's a septum ring in your septum. But I'm here to challenge you to be more creative with your piercings. Here's what's up:
Today's Topics:
- Gauge Size: This is the key factor in making sure your jewelry can have a universal fit. Gauge refers to the thickness of the jewelry in question - i.e. the width of the part of the jewelry that goes through your body. If you match up gauge sizes, you can move your jewelry anywhere.
- Hoops: You can wear hoops ANYWHERE, as long as they are the correct gauge size! Try a hoop in an ear cartilage piercing, your nose piercings, your septum, or anything else you can think of. Size and your personal anatomy is the only limitation!
- Flat Back Studs: Depending on the bar length, these can be worn anywhere! They come in 1/4" and 5/16" sizes (cartilage vs. labret usually). Try them in different ear cartilage piercings, or even your nose.
- Curved Barbells: these are commonly worn in eyebrow piercings, but I like to wear them in my tragus! I have also seen them in daith piercings.
The options are infinite!

On the topic of universal jewelry, this happens to be one of the most commonly asked questions: Can I wear a septum ring in my daith. Just like my above content, the answer is yes! Septum jewelry isn't relegated to only be worn in a septum piercing. Even something as specific as a septum clicker can be worn in many different piercings. The same goes for daith jewelry - anatomy willing, you can wear anything that's meant for your daith in your septum. Really, the only limitation (besides your anatomy) is the gauge size. Match up your jewelry's thickness with your piercing's gauge size and you're good to go in every situation. Need even more info? Let's talk JEWELRY. I'm wondering if some of you thought of outer space jewelry when I called this episode "Universal Jewelry," so I included our Alien & UFO collection above. This cosmic collection has all things outer space - think aliens, spaceships, planets, stars, comets... You name it, we've got it! Next, I've been really into key body jewelry lately. Keys are timeless and have a certain sense of romance to them. We've got lots of different options, including locks, heart-shaped keys, and some pretty cool king and queen themed key stuff that we think will really catch your eye! Last but not least, I'd like to give a little extra spotlight to our Monthly Club jewelry this week. Our May set is super spring-themed, perfect for this time of year, but bright and eye-catching for any month otherwise.
