The Tea: Opal Love
Hey Body Candy Babes!
Hey Hey Hey, it's Thursday! Welcome to my weekly e-zine, The Tea.
I was changing out my septum ring last week and admiring the fancy opal setting when suddenly, it hit me - "I don't know the difference between a synthetic opal and a real opal..." Babes. I opened a can of worms. I went down a rabbit hole of opal research. I LEARNED SO MUCH. Did you know that synthetic opals are physically and chemically the same as opals found in nature? Just call me Alley the scientist from here on out - I may be pursuing a degree in geology ;).
But real talk, I think opals are so beautiful. What do you think of when you think "opal" - it's that shimmery, can't-quite-put-your-finger-on-it quality that they have (I learned that it's actually called "play of color"). It's fiery, it's irridescent, its translucent, it's mysterious... But most importantly, it's beautiful. That's why this week is all about opal love.
And while we're at it, what the heck is opalite? I figured that out too... It's another man-made material - glass! They may not have the "play of color" of a genuine or synthetic opal, but they are flawlessly translucent and shimmer in their own special way. Opalite has that "natural stone" feel, which makes it perfect for plugs, hangers, and even little nose studs.
Anyways, I hope y'all have a happy Thursday - I am v much looking forward to FB Live tomorrow... We're gonna be SWIMMING in opals! Let's hang out, talk about being part of the bod mod squad, and check out some of Body Candy's most beautiful opal masterpieces! I'll see y'all tomorrow, Friday, at 1pm EST.
See you soon qts.
