Q: I’ve heard there are risks with tongue piercings. Is there a way to protect from wear on my teeth? -Chloe V
A: Sadly, there is no way to protect your teeth from oral piercings. The best thing you can do is simply not play with it and make sure your jewelry is properly sized. Appropriately sized jewelry reduces the chances of accidentally biting down on it while eating. Other than that, the risk of dental damage will always be there and it’s something to truly consider if you want to go ahead with the piercing. Best of luck!
Q: I’m going in for my first real piercing appointment in 3 weeks (my first was done at Claire's… 😭 I know) Any advice before my appointment? -Lily
A: The best thing you can do is make sure you’re in the proper state to get pierced. Get a good night’s sleep the night before, drink plenty of water the day before and the day of your appointment, and make sure to eat a light meal before you go. If you think you might be prone to fainting, let the piercer know in advance and take some candy or a juice box with you. Happy piercing!
