Q: Do you offer any piercing care kits on your site? -Mila P
A: We don’t sell pre-made piercing emergency kits yet (but omg what a great idea). Luckily, you can totally DIY your own and it’s honestly a game-changer. Here’s what to pack:
-
Sterile saline spray (for obvious reasons)
-
Coated pliers + gloves (for those “ugh, it’s stuck” moments)
-
Spare ends in your usual style - threadless, internally, or externally threaded
-
Extra o-rings if you wear single flare plugs
-
A couple retainers or backup pieces, just in case
-
A mini flashlight (for when your jewelry launches itself into oblivion)
-
Optional but awesome: forceps + captive ring tools
-
And don’t forget a card from your fave piercer - helpful for Qs and showing off who gave you that fire look 🔥
You can grab a lot of this stuff right here on BodyCandy, btw (I've linked everything in the list above). Your future self will thank you.
Q: Hi there! Piercing newbie! Can I use the same jewelry in cartilage and lobe piercings? -Ava R
A: So here’s the deal... if cartilage jewelry fits in your lobes comfortably (like no pain, no forcing it), you’re good to go! Labrets, captive bead rings, and other straight or circular pieces can totally double as lobe jewelry. Just don’t wear curved barbells (like rook piercings) in your lobes, they’re not made for that and can get weird real quick.
Now flip it. Don’t wear regular earrings in your cartilage piercings. They’re way too thin and can actually start cutting through your skin over time (seriously, it’s called the cheese wire effect... not cute). Plus, butterfly backs aren't the best long-term and harder to keep clean. Not to mention, they can have metals that irritate your skin.
Moral of the story? Cartilage jewelry can multitask, but regular earrings are strictly lobe life. If you need cute, high-quality pieces that do both, BodyCandy’s got you covered.
