Which piercing fits your lifestyle?
Let Kyra help you know which piercing is right for your lifestyle... and which aren't
Do you part take in sports? Maybe a job where piercings aren't permitted? Or perhaps your family members aren't entirely on board with the idea... this one is for you!
So you're an athlete, huh? You may want to be very cautious of any piercings that might snag easily on clothes or equipment unless you're willing to take them out while you're active. This may not be ideal for a fresh piercing though because you won't be able to remove your jewelry for quite some time. Surface piercings like eyebrows, dermals, lip piercings, etc might be a no-no in this situation.
If you have a job where you might need a hidden piercing, Kyra recommends a septum piercing so you can wear a horseshoe so you can flip it upward. Not sold on the idea of a septum piercing? Bodycandy has lots of flesh tone and clear retainers that make your piercings a bit less obvious and acceptable in many workplaces.
If you're looking for a piercing that is out of sight, out of mind, you may want to opt for a navel piercing (belly piercing), nipple rings, and some surface piercings like collar bones.
What about if you have stretched lobes? Impossible to hide? Kyra thinks not! Her pierced pro tip is to get yourself some flesh tone plugs. Obviously there are some places where these will be more accepted than others depending on your size.
Here's a fun less common hidden piercing - a smiley!! Kyra says she wears a barbell (of the proper gauge) in her smiley piercing when she wants it a bit more hidden. This trick may depend on your anatomy though, so if it's uncomfortable or doesn't seem to be working out for you, don't force it.
We hope this helps you on your piercing journey!
