Internal vs. External Threading
What's the difference?
Internally threaded = threading on the inside of the jewelry post/barbell
Pros - Smooth insertion, Reduced irritation, Easy to use
Cons - More expensive, Less common, Risk of damage to threading: If the jewelry is not handled carefully, the internal threading can be damaged

Externally threaded = threading on the outside of the jewelry post/barbell
Pros - More affordable, Widely available, Less prone to damage: Externally threaded jewelry is less prone to damage than internally threaded jewelry, as the threading is not as delicate and is less likely to break or become damaged.
Cons - Uncomfortable to wear as the threaded barbell end can cause irritation when passing through your piercing. This also allows for a higher risk of infection. Prone to loosening due to the nature of the threading
