Everything you Need to Know about Septums
Have you been considering getting your septum pierced? Kyra lays out all the pros and cons in today's tea!
On this week's tea our UK body candy babe Kyra Robinson talks about her favorite piercing her septum. She does like to apologize if she comes across as ill as she was at multiple festivals! I personally think she looks fabulous!!
Kyra says the septum piercing can fit anyone and they work around everyone's own style. Firstly she stresses how this piercing needs to be pierced with a needle, not a piercing gun. She recommends going to a piercing professional and getting it pierced. They will know to pierce where it is the soft septum tissue and not the tougher cartilage which can lead to a more painful experience.
The healing time for this piercing can be anywhere from 3-5 months. Kyra reminds us that healing is not linear and different for everyone. But in her own experience, you can expect the pain and swelling to go down after 3 weeks. Be sure to use your sterile solutions and saltwater! A little blood is to be expected but anything that seems too much is probably too much, give your piercing professional a call!!
Pros
- less prone to infection
- not too bad with a cold
- you can hide it!
- if you take it out no visible scar!
Cons
- Takes a bit to get used to
- Weird feeling
If you change or move this piercing while it's healing make sure to clean your hands before and after touching your piercing. And take all the usual procedures and care for your healing piercings.
Now that your septum piercing is all healed you can look for some fun jewelry, we have segment rings, clickers, captive rings (Kyra is NOT a fan), horseshoes, and more! And if you aren't completely sold on getting it pierced yet we do have some fake septum options!
In the video Kyra shows off her favorite pics and we tagged some of them below as well. If you want more make sure to check out this link to see all of our septum rings! https://www.bodycandy.com/search?view=spring&q=septum
