The Tea: Innies, Outies, & Inverted Anatomy
Hey Body Candy Fam!
Good morning/afternoon/evening all! It's Thursday, so y'all know I'm here for my weekly e-zine, The Tea.
Today's topics:
- Anatomy! Everyone's body is different, including the parts of your body that you might want to get pierced. Here's a few common ones, plus more in the vlog!
- Inverted nipples - Yes, you can get these pierced! In fact, occasionally this piercing will "correct" the inverted look (even though there's nothing wrong with inverted nips!).
- Outie belly buttons - you may not be able to get a traditional belly piercing with an outie, but don't be discouraged! Consult with a piercer - they might be able to work something out, like maybe a navel-adjacent surface piercing.
- I'd love to get my daith done... But my ear is just too shallow :(. There are plenty of way to compromise, like maybe a conch or snug!
- Disclaimer: Alley is not a professional piercer. If you have a body part that was mentioned today, let a professional piercer decide for sure whether or not you should be pierced!

Maybe you're already on spring break... Maybe it's next week. I'm not sure - but either way I've picked some of my favorite springy (with hints of summer) collections to show off this week. First and foremost - mermaid life. We have SO much jewelry decorated with iridescent mermaid scales and mermaid energy... Plus lots of under-the-sea flavor like crabs and starfish jewelry. Next, pineapples. What can I say - I love snacks! And beyond that, pineapples are a lovely accessory year long, bringing to mind carefree summer days and that lovely island vibe. If those collections aren't doing it for you, we're still digging on our newest arrivals, including a bunch of gorgeous internally-threaded belly rings, dangle nipple rings, and much more. See you on the website!
Ahhhh! I had a bad experience with a piercing gun when I was younger - I actually had a piercing gun try to pierce my ear cartilage, which is super dangerous. It can literally shatter your ear... And I ended up with a keloid. That being said, in case you needed any more proof, this week's blog is "Why Are Piercing Guns Bad?" Go to a pro, it will be totally worth it!
Dear Alley. One of my favorite parts of the week. The Tea was so fun, I started a whole other column! What is Dear Alley you may ask? It's a brand new segment where I answer your emails/questions/comments/concerns... And post them every Saturday. If you have a question or something you want to run by your girl Alley, I'm here for you! Send an e-mail to DearAlley@bodycandy.com for a chance to get your question answered. So far the response has been AMAZING - but I need everyone to continue to sending in great questions so I have stuff to work with. I answer three, (yes 3!) of your questions at the end of the week! Send 'em in bbs! The Dear Alley segment is just one of our regular content creations that we have here on the Body Jewelry Blog. If you like The Tea, Dear Alley, and our Facebook LIVE series, we'll see you back every week!
