I got the piercing I'm most terrified of!
It's been a long time coming I finally got my medusa pierced!!
The Breakdown:
I went into this piercing with friends that have the piercing telling me it's the worst piercing pain they've ever had. I've been mentally preparing for a long time but I just had to bite the bullet and book it so I did go into this expecting it to be really, really painful.
Once it was all cleaned up and sterilized and we got the placement right, we went ahead and pierced it. It was over so fast and my eyes watered but that's to be expected, same as when you get your septum pierced.
We chose a long bar for healing and I also opted for an opal on mine. You can get similar ones on www.bodycandy.com after you've healed but this is obviously the jewelry that I was pierced with and I don't plan on changing it until it's fully healed. - I really cannot put into words how much this didn't hurt me. I'd honestly go as far as think it was maybe like a four or a five (click here for opal medusa jewelry)
My lip swelled up but wasn't too noticeable, kind of comparable to if you've ever had lip filler. It kind of hurt the most if I was smiling too much. That was only for maybe the first four or five days and now it's been over a week I have no issues with it whatsoever
I've been cleaning with saline solution on the outside and non-alcoholic mouth wash on the inside to rinse.
The only problems that have occurred are obviously because I've got a long bar and a septum piercing, it has got stuck once or twice. Also, the long bar kind of gets stuck underneath my teeth which is why it's important to get your bar changed as soon as the swelling goes down! I need to go and do that next week.
Overall, I had a really, really great experience I'd say if you really want your medusa done, do your research and find someone that's really reputable
