The Tea: How to Insert a Septum Ring
Hey Body Candy Fam!
It's Thursday, YOU KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS! Welcome to The Tea! I'm Alley - this is my pierced & modified blog where we talk about piercings, body mods, and anything else that's on my mind... Every week!
Have y'all ever heard of a "seamless ring?" It's a unique piece of septum jewelry that comes equipped with a hinge. It doesn't look like other septum jewelry (think seamless rings or horseshoe barbells) so it may look intimidating to insert at first.
The truth of the matter is, septum clickers are SUPER easy to insert and look amazing after you've done so. What's more - you can actually wear segment rings in OTHER piercings... As long as you make sure the gauge sizes match! Try them out in your upper ear cartilage someday, you might be surprised how cool and unique it looks.
Today's topics:
- When putting in a new septum ring, stand in front of the mirror! For me, changing my septum is more of a "feel" as opposed to a "sight" type of sense, but everyone is different. You'll find your own rhythm!
- It might seem like your septum piercing is through your nose cartilage, but it's actually lower/higher than that in a little strip of skin called the "columella." (There is also a chance that your septum ring was done through your cartilage... You would know because this piercing would have been VERY painful).
- When you're ready to insert the segment ring or clicker, open up the hinge and insert the hinge into the piercing... No use trying to pinch the jewelry together inside of the piercing; that would be a much more difficult process and could potentially pinch the skin inside your piercing.
- Once the hinge has made it through the other side of the piercing, squeeze the two sides together until you hear a little "pop." That's it, you're done!

They are TIMELESS and CLASSIC. They are probably what you think of when you think of the term "body jewelry." That's right, we're talking about belly rings. Whether you want a piercing that can be easily hidden (belly rings can be covered by most clothing options) or you're looking to really show off in a bikini at the beach, the navel piercing is one of the most versatile piercings available. The best part about this mod? It looks good on everyone! People of all ages, heights, and sizes have belly rings and they always add just a little bit of fun sparkle to your look. They are also very customizable. Do you play sports or hit the gym often? Try a bioplast retainer in your belly button. Are you more glamorous? Belly chains are an absolute LOOK and dangly belly rings always add a bit of extra visual excitement to your mod. There's also the classic barbell look - you can't go wrong with an understated basic! Either way, there's a lot to learn about belly button rings, especially if you've never had one before. Check out our latest blog if you're interested in more info about this exciting body modification: Navel Piercings: Everything You Need to Know About Belly Button Rings.
