The Tea: Answering Your Piercing Questions, Vol. 7
Hey Body Candy Fam!
Awwww, yeah... Hello Thursday! If you're new here, welcome to The Tea! It's my weekly Thursday email where I talk about all things related to piercings and being modified.
We've been talking about my healing process the last few weeks (I recently got a rook piercing, a conch piercing, and a helix piercing in my ear cartilage), and I thought now might be a good idea to answer a few of your questions. Remember, if you want your questions answered by yours truly, send an email to DearAlley@bodycandy.com for your chance to be featured as well!
Today's questions:
- I had a tongue piercing last week - my piercer told me I could switch the barbell out after seven (7) to ten (10) days... Is that safe to do?
- I went to a piercing place that my cousin goes to and I wanted to get my navel piercing done. The piercer told me that my belly button was in a "horizon" shape, therefore, it would get infected or reject, even if I cleaned it a lot. Have you ever heard of this happening before? I think a belly button piercing would really help with my confidence.
- P.S. My ear is healing up really well! More on that in the video:
Black Friday and Cyber Monday are coming soon... Lots of FUN giveaways, Facebook LIVE sessions, and much more... We'll see you then!

Have you been considering getting a lip piercing? Maybe you've been coveting your friends' cute monroe piercing, or maybe a through-the-lip vertical labret piercing is more your style. There are many different ways to pierce your lips, but one thing is for certain... they all involve a needle being pushed through our skin. You might be wondering what exactly that feels like. You asked, and we answered! We surveyed five (5) loyal Body Candy customers in an attempt to get their takes on what their lip piercing experience was like. They even gave us insight into their piercing aftercare and what it was like to heal up. Do you have a lip ring? A medusa piercing? Something else on your face? Let us know what it was like for you - leave a comment on our latest blog: What Does It Feel Like To Get A Lip Piercing?
Opals are a beautiful, shimmering stone that have lots of natural inclusions that make them appear fiery. They are the perfect stone for jewelry because they are all unique and they catch light in many brilliant ways. Check out our opal love collection for all things opal. We have classic white options, ever-popular blue and pink options, and also have a rainbow of other selections. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there's something to be said about a simple, yet bold piece of jewelry. Our matte collection should be the remedy for that. Matte jewelry comes in a variety of colors and has that amazing, non-reflective finish for just enough flair to stand out from the crowd. Last but not least, we are super proud of our status as the biggest and best selection of body jewelry on the internet. We're always adding new and fun stuff (and probably some pieces you never thought you'd see), so be sure to come back from week to week to see what we've been up to. Check out all of our new arrivals now!
I mentioned it above, but if you'd like to be featured in my weekly Dear Alley segment, I'd love to hear from you! Every week, I choose three pierced and modified individuals who have a burning question and answer them to the best of my ability. Are you wondering about something that happened at a piercing studio? Do you have a question about a unique piercing? Did you hear a fascinating piercing rumor that you need fact checked? I'm here for you! Send me an email at DearAlley@bodycandy.com and let me know what's on your mind. Check back every Saturday (or sign up for our email newsletter) to stay tuned!
