The Tea: Answering Your Piercing Questions, Vol. 17
Hey Body Candy Fam!
Hi everyone! It's me, Alley, coming at you HOT with another edition of The Tea. The Tea is my chance to talk about all-things Body Candy - think fresh body mods, cool piercings, new jewelry, being a modified individual, and anything else that might be on my mind. Thanks for joining me today!
Let's be real... I LOVE answering your questions. It reminds me that, no matter what, there are always fun and unique ways to help the pierced and modified community. Today's another edition of Answering Your Piercing Questions - vol. 17 to be specific. I'm always so honored that people keep sending in questions for me to answer.
For today's Tea, we've got questions from Liz, Darinel, and Cherice - today, their questions are about: stubborn cartilage piercings that get infected/rejected; standard sizing when it comes to nostril jewelry and nose piercings; and an industrial bar that has recently developed a piercing bump. Check out all the questions below and be sure to watch my video for the answers.
Today's questions:
- "My top cartilage has been pierced many years ago and I gave it a second piercing two days later after the first one. Well, the second one got infected and was removed, then it healed. Months later, I tried the second one again but under the first one, it got infected again. So, I have it more time to heal. I tried a third time. Infection again. So this January, I finally tried, but closer to my lobes - nothing. Why does my top cartilage refuse two piercings, but I can get my lower cartilage done?" - Liz
- "I recently got an industrial piercing about a month ago, a few days ago I noticed an irritation bump. Is there anything I should do about it? Or should I just leave it alone?" - Darinel
- "I have a question. What is a standard size nostril piercing? Because I can still fit my original nose ring in my nose and I am not sure what the standard size is. Much appreciated, if I could find out the standard size because I would like to fit a piece of jewelry in my nose piercing that is the standard size. Love you Alley for the help and thank you!" - Cherice
Thanks so much to everyone who submitted questions this week. Be sure to watch my vlog to check out the answers to the questions above.

Have you ever seen a piercing right between someone's eyes? You're looking at a bridge piercing (sometimes known as an Erl piercing) - it's a curved (or sometimes straight) barbell located just underneath the skin at the top of your nose. The bridge piercing is a unique look - especially since it's right in the middle of your face, it'll be something you'll be showing off to the entire world. There are a few things you need to know about this piercing before you head in to get it; it's a surface piercing, meaning it rests just underneath the skin. Just like an eyebrow piercing, a bridge piercing can be prone to rejection if you don't take care of it enough! Be sure to practice good aftercare and let it fully heal before you think about swapping out any jewelry. If you're interested, this week's blog talks all about this fascinating piercing - check it out: Understanding Bridge Piercings.
As for jewelry this week, I have some fun collections I'd like to direct your attention to. First is a NEW collection we've made called Shiny, Sparkly, and Chic. This is a collection for people who love the glitzy side of piercings - think 14k gold body jewelry, opals, diamonds, and other shiny, sparkly options. Perfect for just a little bit of an accent or someone who prefers to wear higher-end body jewelry. Next, we'll talk about Opal Love, which is Shiny, Sparkly, and Chic-adjacent... But just a bit more about opals. Opals are amazing for body jewelry - they shimmer in different colors, reflect the sunlight, and each one is just a little bit different. Perfect for summer jewelry fun. Finally, let's talk about a fun one - this is a collection called World of Magic. This collection is for fans of fantasy, magic, and mystery - think witchy stuff, swords and arrows, potions, magic and more. Wear it to your next D&D night!
