The Tea: Answering Your Piercing Questions, Vol. 16
Hey Body Candy Fam!
Happy almost-summer everyone! If this is your first time joining us, my name is Alley and this is my weekly vlog called The Tea. On Thursdays, we get together to talk about the stuff that's on my mind... Usually related to piercings, mods, tattoos, and other fun stuff.
I absolutely love getting mail from Body Candy customers all over the world. I get so many questions in my inbox that we started a series called "Answering Your Piercing Questions" - where I read a question straight from my inbox and answer it on the spot. I'm proud to say that we're already on volume 16! Here's to 16 more :).
For today's Tea, we've got questions from Skylou, Lee, and Lydia - today we are discussing: double nostril piercings and symmetry; industrial bars and various gauge sizes; and nipple jewelry sizing. The full questions are below - but make sure you watch my vlog for my full answer!
Today's questions:
- "One of my favorite piercings is a double nostril, and the one thing I'd love is that they're pretty much even and equal to each other. But I've been to two different piercers and they both of them managed to make it come out slightly uneven each time. I just got it redone, and the piercer marked it in the perfect spot, but they pierced higher than what I thought they would. So my question is am I just being too picky in wanting (as close as possible) complete evenness, or should I just accept it and move on to new piercings?" - Skylou
- "My name is Lee, I got nipple piercings back in October (2020) and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM! The only thing I have with them is the nipple piercings are always too small for me. I recently bought 5/8" which I’ve heard they are the longest ones people make. Is there any way I can find out where I can buy bigger ones? I’ve had on the ones my piercing put on me since I first got them and never realized I would struggle so much with finding the right size. Please help!" - Lee
- "I got an industrial piercing last week with a 16 gauge barbell. My question is, when it heals can I use a 14 gauge barbell? Because that is the only size I can find! Thanks!" - Lydia
These questions were great! Now check out my video to see what I had to say.

This week, we did a little spotlight on the daith piercing. The daith is an amazing cartilage piercing located in the inner ear. If you take your finger and run it along the upper ridge of your ear until it turns into your middle ear (directly above the ear canal), you've found the daith. This piercing is amazing because of it's location - it's tucked into the natural twists and turns of your ear, making it a natural showcase for body jewelry. If you've ever though about getting this piercing, you've probably wondered "what exactly does that feel like?" Of course, any piercing is going to hurt... You're having a needle pushed through your body. But cartilage piercings tend to have some tricky nuance, especially because piercings don't feel the same for everyone. We asked five (5) Body Candy customers exactly what it was like when they went in to their piercer to get a daith piercing. We transcribed their stories and put them all in a helpful blog for you. Check out this week's blog: What Does It Feel Like To Get A Daith Piercing?
Let's talk jewelry, bbs! We've recently made some brand new collections and I'm excited to share them with you today. First - belly chains! The summertime is the perfect time to show off your navel jewelry - when your belly can be exposed without the fear of freezing. Belly chains are an absolutely unique way to emphasize your navel piercing - besides the typical belly ring, these come with a chain that wraps around your waist. Great for beach days, nights at the club, or a fun day outside! Next, let's talk about our rainbow collection! June is Pride month - so this collection fits right in! Rainbow anodized stuff looks AMAZING no matter what time of year... Plus anodized titanium is some of the most comfy jewelry material you can find. Snag yourself some rainbow pieces for year-round fun. Last but not least is our glow in the dark collection. I don't know about you, but Buffalo has opened up again for nighttime social life! What better way to introduce yourself with a BANG than with some glow in the dark body jewelry. We've got glow in the dark belly rings, nipple rings, tongue rings and more, so you can stand out in the club the next time you head out for some weekend fun.
