The Tea: Answering Your Piercing Questions, Vol. 12
Hey Body Candy Fam!
CONGRATULATIONS! You've made it to Thursday! We've ALL made it to Thursday... And that means it's time for a new episode of The Tea with me, Alley. It's my every-Thursday blog where we talk about piercings, body mods, and anything else that might be on my mind. Thanks for being here!
I love these episodes of The Tea because I get to answer questions directly! These are real questions from real Body Candy customers, and I think they apply to lots of other pierced and modified folks worldwide. Here's another volume of Answering Your Piercing Questions - we're already on volume 12!
Today, we have questions from Gloria, Bri, and Sierra - we're talking about industrial bars and piercing bumps; masking up for work when you are pierced (and the complications that might ensue); and what to do when you have an infected belly ring.
Today's questions:
- "Dear Alley: I got an industrial bar piercing about three (3) years ago. I cleaned and took care of it properly, but I still got a bump on the backside of my ear. How can I get rid of it, or is it too late?" - Gloria
- "Hi, my name is Bri! I have to wear double masks at my job and I have an industrial bar. The masks I have to wear irritated it and created a keloid around the trouble spot. What should I do? I wanted to get it surgically removed but I feel like it would defeat the purpose if I have to keep wearing the mask still. Have a nice day!" - Bri
- "Hi, I recently got a belly piercing and it's infected, what do I do? My parents won't take me to a doctor, but it's itchy and red..." - Sierra

We've all been there... You've got an amazing piece of jewelry you want to wear. You get into the bathroom to change your jewelry in the mirror and your piercing ball won't unscrew... What gives? This is a common issue with jewelry of all qualities, but there are some pretty simple solutions to helping you get these tricky balls unstuck. Have you tried wearing a rubber glove or a latex glove? The extra traction between your fingers and the piercing ball might give you the edge that you need to unstick that stubborn ball. Besides that, we've put together a helpful little list of things you can try when your piercing ball just won't come undone. Check out this week's blog over on the body jewelry blog: Piercing Ball Won't Unscrew? Five (5) Tips To Unscrew A Piercing Ball That is Stuck.
