How can you try a piercing before you take the plunge?
Gems/Beads
This is a simple, low-tech way to check yourself out with some new piercings without getting pierced. All you need is a handful of 3mm-5mm beads - metallic finishes will give you the most realistic effect - or tiny rhinestones with flat backs. Take a skin-safe adhesive on a toothpick while holding the bead or gem with tweezers. (please DO NOT use eyelash glue!) Then just put a teensy dot of adhesive on the item and stick it to your face. It’s that simple. And it's temporary so if you don’t like it, you aren’t stuck with it.
Piercing Stickers
These are even easier. They’re just tiny, gemmed stickers that you can apply to your face with tweezers or a very gentle and steady hand. No need to buy adhesive separately, it’s already on there. While, unlike rhinestones, they are not reusable, they come in multi-packs so you can try them out all over your face as you see fit. And they come in a range of colors and styles so you can rock the ones that work with your aesthetic.
Piercing Filters
These are nice if you just want to see what a piercing might look like but not walk with it. Piercing filters are filter settings on social media (like snapchat or tiktok) The filter actually adds the piercing to your face the same way it can add kitty ears or a puppy nose to your face.. You won’t get the experience of being able to touch your new addition, but you will at least get to see what it might look like if and when you decide to go ahead and get it done. Isn’t technology cool?
Faux/Clip-on Jewelry
These are pieces that clip on using clamps, magnets, or light pressure to achieve the look of a piercing where there is none. These are not relegated only to the ever popular ear cuff and are available to mimic belly piercings, septum rings, nostril rings, nipple rings, and even plugs! Faux belly rings are generally found in clamp style, while septum rings are available in both pressure hold or magnetic styles. Nostril and nipple rings are generally of the pressure variety and please note that pressure style jewelry is completely adjustable so you can make it as gentle and comfortable as you like.
