Q: Will heavy belly rings make my piercing sag over time? I love the look of the dangle jewelry, but I'd like to have this piercing for a long time and I don't want to stretch it out. - Taylor F.
A: Dangle belly ring charms shouldn’t be heavy enough to cause your piercing to sag or stretch. This is assuming that yours is fully and completely healed as dangle jewelry is not for fresh or healing piercings. So long as your belly piercing is totally healed, you should have no trouble with dangle jewelry. And if you are still uncertain about it, you can always change back to a plain curved barbell when you’re staying in or going to bed. Happy piercing!
Q: Hello! I recently got my right-side nostril pierced about 3 weeks ago and I know crust and discharge is pretty normal. How or what can I do to clean it up so it won’t be so noticeable? One more question, I also have my left side pierced and it is already fully healed. It has a funky odor to it so I’ve been wanting to take it out and clean it. What is the procedure to clean the jewelry and the pierced area? Thank you! - Priscila
A: You’ll want to clean those piercings with sterile saline wound wash spray. Neilmed makes a good one (you can shop that here --> Shop Neilmed aftercare) but store brand is fine, so long as the only ingredient is sterile saline. Using clean hands, spray them twice a day, rinse lightly, and then dry them with either a hair dryer or a clean paper towel. You can use it for both nostrils and you may find that you don’t even need to remove the healed piercing for cleaning. Best of luck!
