A: Angel bites are just paired horizontal piercings of the upper lip at the outer edges. Much like a standard lip piercing, they require flatback labrets for jewelry. Flatbacks can be worn in a huge array of piercings including most lip piercings and numerous ear cartilage piercings. So, there may not be a category specific to your piercing but there is one for labrets which covers a lot of different piercings. What size you will need is something to discuss with your piercer as you will need to downsize from the jewelry you are initially pierced with, and they will decide which gauge to use based on the piercing itself and also your anatomy. Q: What is anodized jewelry? Will it chip or flake? -Breanne
A: Anodizing is a process that changes the color of the metal of the jewelry without applying a coating. The jewelry is placed in a chemical bath and electricity is applied to it causing it to change color through a chemical process. Anodized jewelry will not chip or flake because it is not coated, it has actually changed colors. Over the years, however, the color may fade but the metal will retain its smooth, polished surface making it still safe to wear. (Click here for more on this) If you buy piercing-quality titanium jewelry and it is any color other than basic titanium silver, it is likely anodized. Anodizing is a more costly process than coating and usually used on higher quality jewelry. It’s available in every color from rainbow to rose gold, with the lone exception being black. You cannot anodize titanium to a true black, only a gunmetal grey (which is still awesome looking). Hope this helps!
