Never pry them open! Bend slightly sideways to remove—otherwise you’ll wreck the shape.
👉 Tools Matter
Captive rings? Use ring opening and closing pliers. Skip the DIY struggle.
👉 Prep Smart
Do it in the bathroom with good lighting and a mirror. Close the drain (seriously), or you’ll be fishing jewelry out of the sink.
👉 Get a Grip
Gloves = traction. Nitrile or vinyl gloves can loosen even the most stubborn ball end.

Frustrated? Step away. Eat, breathe, watch TV—then try again with a clear head.

Your piercer can remove or insert jewelry for you

Clean with saline after changing. A little irritation is normal, but with the right prep, it’ll be smoother than the piercing itself.
