So you're thinking of getting your nipples pierced, but you're not sure what to expect? Lucky for you, we decided to show you. Watch as our friend Leah gets hers done!

We tagged along as Leah went to see our awesome piercing professional friend James, at American Skin Art here in Buffalo, NY.

James cleans the area around Leah's nipples to make sure everything is germ-free and sanitized. Clamps are used to make sure that the nipple and skin surrounding is held steady. Leah takes a deeeeeep breath and James pushes the piercing needle through her nipple. Phew! That's it. Looks almost painless, doesn't it?!

A straight barbell is inserted into the piercing, ball ends are fastened on and James then moves onto the second nipple to repeat the process. And that's it! Brand new nipple piercings in less than one minute.

Leah's final reaction to her brand new nipple piercings is exactly the same as anyone I know who's had theirs done. "It doesn't even hurt, it's like it's not even there."

Healing Time: Typically 6-9 months for females, 3-4 months for males
Jewelry Style: 14 gauge straight barbell or circular ring

    Hey Ashton!

Everyone’s body is different – I don’t think “unusually small” nipples would look ridiculous with jewelry in them. In fact, getting them pierced might make you love them in a different way!

If you’re worried about your anatomy, head into a professional piercer – they have experience with all sorts of nipple piercings and can let you know what works best for you.

She made that look so easy… When I had mine done I passed out for the first time EVER! And I’ve had spinal fusion surgery and 2 kids without pain meds so that’s saying something lol

I got my nipples pierced in March, it has been 6 weeks and they are still not fully healed. It hurt so much I started to ask him not to pierce the 2nd one. I attempted to change my ring into one of my new Body Candy jewelry pieces and it tore the new scab and begin to bleed. So, I had to reinsert the piercing barbell. I’ll be happy when it’s healed.

Maybe my nips are a lot more sensitive, but mine hurt like a b****. Anytime something would rub against them, I felt immediate pain, not to mention as soon as they were pierced they bled quite a bit. I’m honestly disappointment that this clip doesn’t show how painful it can be.

This is nice to see someone who’s had a good experience! I had a good experience as well with mine but I’m not going to lie and say it didn’t feel like anything. IT HURT, A LOT, But it was over with quickly! It was extremely sensitive for the next 2 weeks to almost being painful. Yes, people, it will likely hurt, but not for long and it’s totally worth it. Just pop an ibuprofen beforehand and you’re gucci
