i liked the silicone a lot because nearly all metal tends to irritate my ears- so especially if you're going up size-wise, i would highly reccommend the silicone plugs- much lower risk of infection. Another nice thing is the fact that you dont have to worry about o-rings with these because they have the little plasticy things sticking out on either end so they stay in your ears. Also easy to clean. Great all around!
